Is it enough to know the Scriptures?

Even Satan can quote written scripture, Luke 4 : 9-11 " The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down from here. For it is written: " He will command his angles concerning you to guard you carefully; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone."

Words on a printed page, knowledge of doctrines, or systematic theologies cannot satisfy the need man has for a personal relationship with the living God. This is illustrated by John 5 : 39-40 " You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life." 1 John 5 : 11-12 sums up what is important " And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." Receive the Son for life and study the scriptures for guidance. He wants to give you everlasting life and be your life.
